Project Overview
I worked with Hendon Properties’ Panama City Mall for four years and strategically used social media and digital marketing to promote and market retailers, events we hosted, and the shopping center as a whole. During my time at Hendon Properties, I drastically increased their social media following and engagement, built business and personal relationships within the community that will last a lifetime, and excelled in every aspect of marketing—from advertising, community engagement, media appearances, and more. The experience I gained by working for Hendon Properties really allowed me to use my own creativity and deep dive into all facets of marketing that effectively shined a positive light on the mall.
Featured Engagement
Business Event Planning & Hosting
+ Monthly Special Events—I planned one major event each month in which I would partner with local schools, sports teams, groups, clubs, and businesses throughout our community to help build good relationships, drive people to the shopping center, and generate more revenue overall.
+ Car Giveaway—I planned and hosted the first-ever car giveaway event in 2017, in which we gave away a brand new Hyundai Elantra to someone in our community.
+ Event Marketing—I wrote press releases for every event and appeared on our local ABC Affiliate, WMBB News 13; and NBC Affiliate, News Channel 7 monthly to promote and raise awareness about what events were going on at the mall for the upcoming month.
+ Breast Cancer Awareness Marketing Campaign— To find engagement opportunities for our retailers and to create positive awareness surrounding a cause near to so many people in our community’s hearts, I began a campaign in which every October all retailers would compete for the most decorated storefront to help raise awareness about breast cancer.
Social Media Marketing
+ To continue to create awareness and engagement for the Panama City Mall, I would utilize Facebook and Instagram live videos to market our upcoming holiday sales, events, Santa and Easter Bunny arrivals, and more.
Positive Reputation Management
+ There was a lot of opportunity for public relations during my time working with the Panama City Mall. With so many events going on, media outreach was crucial. I purchased media buys and billboards, wrote and voiced radio commercials, and created television commercial concepts to inform the public of everything going on at the mall.
